Lightning strikes right at sunset in Safford, Arizona during the 2015 summer monsoon.
I had been trying to get this shot for years. It is so incredibly difficult for some reason to get good bolts at sunset in Arizona. For me, I usually underexpose the bolt to compensate for the bright sun. In this case, the rain shaft and an aperture of f/11 helped cut down the amount of light hitting the camera sensor. The result is one of my favorite photos of monsoon 2015.
